Haari Maala , also known as Company Maala, is a traditional jewelry made out of coins. It is a sign of prestige especially in Rai and Limbu community. It is believed that families of British- India army introduced it back in 19th century.
The value of maala depends on the coin’s issued date and the number of coins. Older the coin is minted, more expensive it is.
In this set, the coins are of BS 2011 (1954 A.D), value of coin is Re.1 and there are 70 coins.
