What is Dashain? It is the biggest auspicious holiday for Hindus originating from Nepal. In parts of India, it is called Dashara. It is 1o days long celebration starting with a day called Ghatasthapana and ending with Vijaya Dashami. The festival symbolizes the victory of goddess Durga over demon Mahisasur.
